Directions from Oxford, OH: (25 miles)
Start out west from Oxford on Rte. 732 (West Chestnut Street) which becomes Brookville Road.
3.8 miles west of Oxford -- turn left with the road instead of going straight.
This is now called Oxford Pike.
Oxford Pike merges into Indiana SR 101 north of Brookville, IN. Bear left onto SR 101.
SR 101 and SR 1 Merge together at a light. Continue straight, about 1/10 mile to another light.
Turn right on US-52 west. Go about 9 miles, turn left onto Columbia Street following signs into Metamora and to the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site.
Cross the canal on the small car bridge, Turn right on Main Street.
Continue through town until the Grist Mill is directly in front of you and the road swerves around it.
Turn left and park in front of the Metamora Country Store.

Directions from Cincinnati:
Start out on I-74 west, towards Indianapolis. Take Indiana Exit 169, for Rte. 52. (This is a very sharp cornering exit. Heed the 15 MPH Exit Ramp speed limit.)
Turn Left onto US 52, 14.5 miles and through Brookville, IN.
Turn Left (west), continuing on Rte. 52, following signs to Metamora and to the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site.
Go about 9 miles, turn left onto Columbia Street following more signs.
Cross the canal on the small car bridge, turn right on Main Street. Continue through town until the Grist Mill is directly in front of you and the road swerves around it.
Turn left and park in front of the Metamora Country Store.
During 2004due to road construction between Brookville and Metamora on Rte 52: on busy weekends (like Canal Days, the first full weekend in October) you might choose to take exit 149 off I-74, and come up SR-229 through Oldenburg, IN, which comes out on US-52 1/4 mile West of Metamora. Turn right on SR-52 and then right on Pennington Road to the Grist Mill.

Directions from Indianapolis:(48 miles from New Palestine)
Most Direct:Start out on US-52 (Brookville Road) directly to Metamora.
Turn right on Pennington Road where Rte. 52 crosses the canal and the Railroad Tracks cross Rte 52.
Turn right immediately after passing the Grist Mill and park in front of the Metamora Country Store.

May be faster:Start out on I-465 / I-74 South/East.
At exit 49B, exit onto I-74 (US-421) for 22.3 miles.
At exit 116, access SR-44, follow east 16.9 miles to Rushville.
Turn right (South) onto US-52 and follow this 20.4 miles to Metamora.
Turn right on Pennington Road where Rte. 52 crosses the canal and the Railroad Tracks cross Rte 52. Turn right immediately after passing the Grist Mill and park in front of the Metamora Country Store.
