January and February:These 6 shops are typically open on Thursdays-Sundays in the Winter, weather permitting.Call before leaving home as their Hours may Change.

The State Historic Site (Metamora Gristmill and their Gift Shop) opens April 1st. Many of the privately owned shops synchonize with the State Historic Site..

May: All shops open weekends. 10AM-4:30PM, with variation in hours by shop.

Tues and Wed. 15-25 open.

June 1 through Aug. 31: All shops open weekends. 10AM-4:30PM, with variation by shop.

Sept. 1 through Thanksgiving: All shops open weekends. 10AM-4:30PM, with variation by shop.

Flags designate "Open". Look for the flags. Many buildings in Metamora are private residences. By trying only building where a flag is displayed you will not disturb those who are not keeping shop.

Metamora Grist Mill (Whitewater Canal State Historic Site, Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources)
Wednesday - Saturday. 9AM - 5 PM from April 1 to November 18, 2005
Closed Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Veterans Day, Election Day and Columbus Day.

Holiday Season 2005
Open November 25 and 26, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.; November 27, noon - 5 p.m.;Fridays and Saturdays in December, Noon - 10 p.m.; Sundays in December, noon - 5 p.m. Closed for winter after December 18, 2005.

Canal Boat (Whitewater Canal State Historic Site, Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources)
Wednesday - Saturday, dependent on canal conditions, June 15 - October 31, 2005 10AM - 2PM. Tickets are sold at the Gristmill. The Aqueduct will be renovated during the spring of 2005. Canal Boat begins operations May 1 during normal years. June 15 is a tentative date for 2005. Actual operations may begin earlier or later than this date.

Saturday and Sunday - Departs Connersville 12PM, Stays in Metamora Approximately 1:30 - 3:30

June* Through September: Saturday and Sunday - Departs Connersville 12PM, Stays in Metamora Approximately 1:30 - 3:30 *except June 17-19 & June 24-26 which are Day Out with Thomas the Train Days in Connersville.

October: Thursday, Friday - Departs Connersville 10A
Saturday and Sunday - Departs Connersville 12PM, Stays in Metamora approximately 1:30 - 3:30
