Contribute to Christmas Walk

Metamora's Christmas Walk has been conducted by the Merchants for many many years. It is one of the oldest and most enduring display of Christmas lights, and Christmas Spirit known to 3 generations of Hoosiers and Buckeyes.

The Metamora merchants are independant, autonomous enterprises and have always funded Christmas Walk without taxpayer's assistance, or any outside assistance. But this is becoming ever more difficult and nearly impossible nowadays.

If you have ever enjoyed Metamora's Christmas Walk or a similar event anywhere, and would like to preserve such displays -- please participate in Spreading this Christmas Cheer with a contribution.

Contributions will help volunteer merchants and friends of Metamora:

• Decorate and light public areas (utility poles, bridges, the gazebo, and other public property)
• Entertain visitors with strolling carrolers (Usually a paid group. May be bribed with cookies and hot chocolate which might be paid for in part with your contributions.)
• Entertain visitors with a strolling Barbershop Quartet (A paid goup.)
• Santa, or a designated Ambassador he sends to Metamora (Santa volunteers, Merchants pay his expenses.)
• Candy for the children visiting with their families, distributed by Santa Claus.
• Refreshments for the tree lighting ceremony.
• Painting certain public properties as may be needed in preparation for Christmas Walk.
• Maintenance of free public parking areas opened by the merchants for the season
• Insurance and other administrative expenses.
• Surplus contributions will be contributed to the Ruth Lyons Children Fund, a Cincinnati charity.
• The Metamora Merchants Association is a Not-For-Profit incorporated organization.

You may also contribute by adding an amount you specify to any order placed with the Metamora Country Store. Please designate "for Christmas Walk" and the amount of the contribution.

If you have photographs of Metamora's Christmas Walk, or of other special times in Metamora, and would like to see them here in our gallery, please e-mail a copy to us, or mail us your original with your return address. We will gladly post them here and return the original to you.
