April 16th Special Train visits Metamora. A "Photo Freight" operatated by The Southern Appalachia Railway Museum (SARM). For more information about this trip use this link: SARM.

May 21, 2005 (3rd Saturday)
Wild West Character Actors stroll through Metamora, 1:30-3:30; A Whitewater Valley Railroad special event train, Wild West re-enactment. Bandits, Robbers, Marshals, Railroad Barons,Fancy (and some Not So Fancy) Women stroll through Metamora during the railroad's 2 hour layover. Ride the train to see their Wild West shootout -- the re-enactment is during the train ride. Metamora Country Store welcomes all re-enactment guests, WWVRR volunteers, and the Delaware Rangers -- the actors sponsored by the WWVRR. See the WWVRR Excursion Train Schedule for details.

Memorial Day Ceremony. Conducted annually since the Civil War. At the car bridge over the canal, Columbia and Lover's Lane. 2:00pm

June 4 & 5, 2005 (Saturday and Sunday)
Celebrate 1838 Juried Master Craftsmen demonstrate their 19th century skills and trade, and sell their wares along the canal. Visiting Craftsmen, the Indiana DNR employees who keep the canal, and many shopkeepers around Metamora will dress in 19th century attire. Tents in Metamora will be 19th Century styles. The Canal may be without water due to restoration work on the aqueduct. If this is the case there will be a demonstration of the Canal Digging methods that were used to built the Whitewater and other canals of 19th Century America.
June 4 & 5, 2005 (Saturday and Sunday)
Strawberry Daze. Strawberry Shortcake, ice cream, and other deserts sold by the Merchants Association to raise money for worthy causes like Christmas Walk and the Ruth Lyons Childen Fund of Cincinnati. 10AM - 5PM (and possibly later) Saturday and Sunday. Always the first full weekend in June.
June 17, 18, & 19, 2005 (Fri., Sat. and Sun.)
Thomas the Tank visits Connersville. (All activities in Connersville.) Thomas the Tank Engine visits Connersville! Families and kids can actually RIDE on a train pulled by Thomas! Lots of activities and lots of fun. See the WWVRR Excursion Train Schedule for details. All activities in Connersville. The Metamora Country Store welcomes all Thomas the Tank visitors to Metamora for a side-trip from Connersville and your visit with Thomas. Follow Rte. 121 south from Connersville and turn left on Rte. 52 to Metamora.
June 24, 25, & 26, 2005 (Fri., Sat. and Sun.)

Fireman's Festival and Chicken Dinner . Fabulous chicken dinners, fantastic fun and games.
Parade starts at 6:00 p.m.
Free Fireworks after dark. Donations are needed to make the Fireworks possible each year.

Civil War Character Actors stroll through Metamora, 1:30-3:30; A Whitewater Valley Railroad special event train, Civil War re-enactment. Morgan's Raiders (Confederate) move on US Govt. payroll during the train ride between Metamora and Connersville. The Union Army is guarding the payroll on the train. Re-enactment during the train ride, character actors stroll around Metamora during the usual 2 hour layover. Fall Foliage Train from Connersville. The Whitewater Valley Railroad adds Thursdays and Fridays to the regular schedule for October. Trains depart Connersville at 10:00AM. Layover in Metamora is from 11:30 to 1:30 before the train returns to Connersville. See the WWVRR Excursion Train Schedule for details. 26th Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Open House.
The tree at the gazebo is lit at dusk. Hot Chocolate and Christmas Cookies are served by the merchants at the gazebo. Shops are lit with their Christmas Walk decorations and lights for judging. Some shops open. All shops lit.
November 28 & 29, 2008 (Fri. and Sat. to 10PM)
Christmas Walk, First Big Weekend of the Christmas Season!. The village is decorated for the season. Canal and walkways lit by candlelight on Friday and Saturday evenings. Carolers and Santa will be there for everyone to enjoy. Shops remain open until 9:00PM and most stay open until 10:00PM.
